YouTube notifications on Telegram

YouTube doesn't send notifications to Telegram itself, so getting new videos there means using a bot or a service that watches YouTube and messages you. Listabell's bot does this for any public playlist or channel you follow. RSS-to-Telegram bots and automation services are the alternatives.

Why Telegram

A Telegram message is a push notification on your phone, on your computer, or both, from a chat you already have open. It won't get buried under promotions in an inbox, and it keeps a history you can scroll back through. It also doesn't depend on how often you watch a channel. YouTube's own alerts do, and since April 2026 they can go quiet for channels you don't watch.

The options

Listabell's bot

Follow a playlist or a channel on Listabell, link Telegram once, and every new video is sent to you by the Listabell bot, checked every hour. It's free and doesn't need a Google account.

Trade-off: linking needs a free Listabell account, and each account can follow a limited number of channels.

An RSS-to-Telegram bot

YouTube publishes an RSS feed for every public channel and playlist, and open-source bots can post any feed into a Telegram chat. Most are projects you host yourself.

Trade-off: you run and update the bot, and the feed only carries the latest videos.

An automation service

IFTTT has ready-made applets that connect YouTube to Telegram, for example to post a channel's new videos into a chat.

Trade-off: it's another account, and the service's own plan limits decide how many automations you get.

Setting it up on Listabell

    Create a free Listabell account

    You only need an email address, and you don't sign in with Google.

    Open Settings → Connect Telegram

    The first time, it asks for a few details once (date of birth, language and country). Then choose Generate Telegram link.

    Send the code to the bot

    Open the Listabell bot from that page and send it the code. The page confirms by itself when the bot has linked your account.

    Follow a playlist or a channel

    Do this from New subscription. From then on, every new video reaches you on Telegram, and by email too if you keep it on.

What a message looks like

One new video arrives as its thumbnail with the title and a direct YouTube link underneath. For a channel, the caption starts with "New from" and the channel's name. When several videos come in at once, you get a single message that lists each title with its link.

Turning it off

Switch Telegram off in Settings and your alerts go by email only. At least one of the two always stays on, so your alerts can't stop by accident. To stop hearing about one playlist or channel, unsubscribe from it on My subscriptions.
